For those who check this website on and off, there are a few bits of information that you may or may not realize.

The State of Nevada Water Engineer has approved water rights applications that will allow Southern Nevada Water Authority to pump and deliver to Las Vegas, 40,000 acre feet of water annually for 10 years. Once that has been done and there is baseline data to prove that this much water can be pumped over time, they will be allowed to pump up to 20,000 more acre feet per year indefinitely. So, 60,000 acre feet of water a year will soon be leaving White Pine county to quench the thirst of more subdivisions that hardly have residents, never ending sprawl and more and more resorts and golf courses. I guess it is better than 91,000 acre feet that was originally requested.

On another note.....
.....the BLM Ely Field Office has release the Draft EIS for the proposed LS Power White Pine Energy Center. This Draft is open to a 60 comment period ending in June. This is an opportunity to see if LS Power and the BLM have done the appropriate homework and will address the critical items of concern most people have on this issue.

Please frame your comments logically and rationally, remember, emotions are fuel for the fire, but uncontrolled fire can have negative consequences. Sound, logical arguments will recieve standing for appeal in this process, but emotional rants will not. Go forth and do good things.
